Can you provide rides not shown on your website?

Yes. Through our established industry connections and network of experienced ride owners, we can often source additional rides and attractions that are not currently shown on our website.

Will the ride look exactly like the website photograph?

Photographs shown on our website are for illustration purposes. The exact ride supplied may vary in artwork, colour scheme, lighting or decorative finish. where an alternative is supplied, it will be the same type of attraction unless otherwise agreed.

What types of events do you provide rides for?

We provide funfair rides for corporate events, weddings, festivals, council and community events, school events, family fun days, private parties, Christmas events, seasonal celebrations and large public events.

Where do you provide funfair ride hire?

We are based in Leicestershire and provide professional funfair ride hire throughout the Midlands and across the UK.

What is included in the hire price?

Unless stated otherwise, the hire price normally includes:

  • Delivery to the agreed location
  • Set-up and testing
  • Operation for the agreed hire period
  • Trained and experienced operating staff
  • Generator and standard fuel requirements where needed
  • De-rig and removal after the event

Any additional requirements or charges will be clearly explained in your quotation.

How long is the standard hire period?

The standard operating period is normally four hours unless otherwise agreed.

Additional operating time may be available at an extra charge, depending on the ride, staffing and fuel requirements.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Yes. A 20% deposit is normally required to secure the booking.

The remaining balance must be paid no later than 14 days before the event unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Bookings made within 21 days of the event will normally need to be paid in full when booked.

How is my booking confirmed?

Your booking is confirmed once the required deposit has been received and we have confirmed the booking details in writing.

Payment of the deposit confirms that you accept our Terms and Conditions.

What happens if I need to cancel?

Cancellation charges depend on how much notice is given and the costs or losses reasonably incurred as a result of the cancellation.

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking as early as possible, particularly for weekends, school holidays, Christmas events and popular summer dates.

Short-notice bookings may still be possible, depending on availability.

What access do you require?

Safe and suitable access is required for vehicles, trailers and equipment needed for the booking.

Please tell us about:

  • Narrow entrances or gateways
  • Height, width or weight restrictions
  • Tight turns or limited manoeuvring space
  • Steps, kerbs or obstacles
  • Overhead cables, trees or structures
  • Underground services
  • Any other access concerns

Providing accurate access information helps us plan the delivery and set-up correctly.

What type of ground can the rides be installed on?

Rides can be installed on most suitable surfaces, including:

  • Grass
  • Tarmac
  • Concrete
  • Stone or gravel
  • Paved areas
  • Uneven ground within safe limits

Suitable packing blocks and equipment are used where required to level and safely install the ride.

The site must have suitable access and enough space for the required vehicles, equipment and safe operation.

Does the ground need to be completely level?

No. The ground does not always need to be completely level.

We can use suitable packing blocks to level the equipment where the difference in ground height is within safe and acceptable limits.

We may ask for photographs, measurements or recommend a site visit before confirming the booking.

Do you carry out site visits?

Yes, where required.

A site visit may be recommended where access, measurements or available space need checking before the booking is confirmed.

A charge may apply depending on the location and requirements.

How much space do the rides require?

The space required depends on the individual attraction.

There must be enough room for the ride itself, safe operating areas, barriers where required, customer access and sufficient room for our vehicles and equipment during set-up and de-rig.

Do you need access to electricity?

Our rides are normally powered by generators supplied by us where required, so mains electricity is not usually necessary unless specifically agreed.

The arrangements will be confirmed as part of your quotation.

Do you supply the generator and fuel?

Yes. Where required, we normally supply the generator and standard fuel needed for the agreed hire period.

Additional charges may apply if the operating time is extended or extra fuel is required.

What happens in bad weather?

Safety is always our first priority.

Operation may be delayed, suspended or stopped if high winds, thunderstorms, flooding, extreme weather or other unsafe conditions make it necessary.

Where possible, operation will restart once conditions are safe. The ride operator’s decision regarding safe operation is final.

What happens if there is a breakdown?

All rides supplied through us are required to be maintained and inspected to the highest standards, but mechanical or electrical faults can occasionally occur.

Every reasonable effort will be made to repair the ride or provide a suitable alternative. If a significant amount of operating time is lost because of a fault for which we are responsible, an appropriate partial refund will be considered in accordance with our terms and conditions.

Are rides insured and inspected?

Yes. All rides supplied through Ride Hire UK Ltd hold the appropriate ADIPS certification and are inspected in accordance with current safety requirements.

Public liability insurance ranges from £5 million to £25 million on selected rides, depending on the attraction and requirements of the event.

What is the Showmen’s Guild of Great Britain?

The Showmen’s Guild of Great Britain is a recognised organisation representing traveling showmen and the wider fairground industry.

Ride Hire UK Ltd is a family-run business with showmen's guild membership with in the family and generations of experience within the fairground industry.

Do you follow HSE guidance?

Yes. Rides supplied through us are required to be maintained, set up and operated in line with current industry safety requirements and relevant Health and Safety Executive guidance.

Can you provide safety paperwork?

Yes. Risk assessments, method statements, insurance documents and inspection certificates can be supplied where required.

Who operates the rides?

Rides are operated by trained and experienced operating staff.

Guests, venue staff and event organisers are not permitted to operate the rides.

Are there height, age or health restrictions?

Some attractions have height, age, capacity or health restrictions.

These vary by ride and will be explained where applicable. All riders must follow the instructions given by the ride operator or operating staff.

Can you refuse someone access to a ride?

Yes. The ride operator may refuse entry to anyone who does not meet the ride restrictions, ignores safety instructions, behaves dangerously or appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

This is to protect the rider, other guests, operating staff and equipment.

Can we hire more than one ride?

Yes. You can hire one attraction or several rides to create a larger funfair area.

We can help recommend a suitable combination based on the event, audience, space and budget.

Can you help us choose suitable rides?

Yes. Tell us about the event, expected age range, number of guests, venue, available space and budget, and we can help recommend suitable attractions.

Can the rides operate indoors?

Some rides may be suitable for indoor venues where there is sufficient access, floor space, ceiling height, ventilation and floor-loading capacity.

This must be discussed and checked before the booking is confirmed.

Do you provide barriers and safety equipment?

The necessary operating and safety equipment for the ride will be supplied where required.

Any additional event fencing, crowd-control barriers, security or wider site-management requirements must be agreed separately.

Does the venue need to be ready before you arrive?

Yes. The agreed set-up area should be clear and accessible when we arrive.

Any parked vehicles, furniture, stalls, barriers or other obstructions should be removed before the agreed set-up time.

Delays caused by the site not being ready may result in additional charges or reduced operating time.

When will you arrive to set up?

Arrival and set-up arrangements will be agreed before the event.

The time needed depends on the ride, access and event requirements. Please ensure the site is accessible and the agreed area is ready when the delivery and operating team arrives.

Can the ride be set up the day before?

Yes, this may be possible depending on availability, access and security arrangements.

Additional charges may apply for day-before set-up, overnight attendance, delayed de-rig or collection after the agreed time.

Do you provide security overnight?

Not unless this has been specifically agreed in writing.

Where equipment is left on site overnight, the hirer may be required to provide suitable security and ensure the area remains safe and protected.

Do staff need food and drinks?

Where operating staff is required to remain on site for an extended period, the hirer is normally expected to provide suitable food and drinks unless otherwise agreed.

Operating staff is also entitled to reasonable breaks while ensuring the ride remains safely supervised.

How do I request a quotation?
